About Me

Myself Sweta Sinha, Senior Research Fellow at the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, India. I have recently given my PhD pre-submission seminar and going to submit my thesis in October 2013.

I have a keen interest in to the topic of air pollution and its associated problems. I have a strong desire to work towards Aerobiology. I believe that my doctoral training, research experience and exhaustive literature study has equipped me with essential skills to understand obscure problems in this field and design appropriate experiments to address them. Apart from conducting aerobiological analysis and experiments, I have participated in experimental planning, recording and analysis of data, evaluating results, preparing scientific document and/or reports and training junior graduate students and project assistants. In addition, I was responsible for maintaining automatic weather monitoring system including SODAR in my lab which allowed me to understand the importance of meterological parameters and its relation with Air pollution. During these years, I gained first hand experience in asking difficult questions and approaches to address them. It provided me strong confidence in conducting meaningful research independently. My primary research findings led to

(i) Assessment And Impact Of Air Pollution In Patherdih Coal Washery, Jharia Coalfield, Eastern India (The Indian Mining & Engineering) Volume 53(1): March,2012, 22-30.

(ii) Source Apportionment Analysis of Air born Particulates in Coal Mining Area of Jharia Coalfield, India (The Indian Mining & Engineering) Volume 51(1): January,2012, 16-23.

(iii) Ambient Air Quality Assessment with particular reference to Particulates in Jharia Coalfield, Eastern India at Post monsoon (Accepted) (Indian Journal of Air pollution control).

(iv) Air Quality Impact Assessment of an Integrated Coal Mining Complex of Jharia Coalfield, Eastern India. (Communicated), (Environmental Monitoring and Assessment), (ISSN: 0167-6369).

(v) Particulate Distributions and its Impact on Integrated Coal Mining Complex of Jharia Coalfield, Eastern India. (Communicated), (Research Journal of Chemistry and Environment),IISN 0926-0972.

(vi) The Effects of Meterological Parameters on the Occurance of Fungal spores in Jharia Coalfield, Eastern India, (manuscript under correcation).
